Remember the huge controversy about the Japan 2020 Olympic logo? The original logo was said to be a plagiarism and new designs had the chance to be in the run for the official logo. But also some hobby-designers made an attempt and created beautiful logos which I presented to you in this post.
Now the Olympic organisers have unveiled the new official logo for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games. Designed by Asao Tokolo the new logo carries the name “Harmonized Chequered Emblem” and is made of traditional japanese fans.
Organisers said the new design used traditional Japanese colours and patterns to represent the intercultural themes of the Games. “It incorporates the message of ‘unity in diversity’,” they said, and the idea that the Games “seek to promote diversity as a platform to connect the world”.
